There’s an old saying:
"If you chase two rabbits, you catch neither."
I think about that a lot when it comes to perfection.
Chasing perfection often feels like chasing two — sometimes three or four — rabbits at once.
One rabbit is success.
Another is approval.
Another is the fear of failure dressed up like "standards."
You run harder, think longer, tweak and polish until what you were excited about gets trapped under the weight of “not enough.”
And instead of moving forward with something real, something alive, you stand there, empty-handed, watching both rabbits disappear into the trees.
What I’m learning — what I’m still reminding myself daily — is that done is better than perfect.
Progress is better than perfection.
Real is better than “flawless.”
The truth is, you only catch the rabbit when you focus on one thing: the mission.
Not the fear.
Not the audience.
Not the what-ifs.
Just the mission.
You don't need to be perfect to be impactful.
You don’t need to be flawless to be chosen.
You just need to show up and move forward — even if your hands aren’t steady yet.
Perfection is a moving target.
Purpose is a home.
Choose purpose.
